Mangaluru: SAEC raises awareness on domestic waste management at Gurupur

Mangaluru, Feb 21: St Aloysius Evening College (SAEC) Students’ Council/Humanities Association and Women’s Forum in association with Lions Club Metrogold, Mangalore and village panchayat Gurupur, organized an awareness programme for the public of Gurupur village panchayat.

Nearly 55 households in Gurupur village panchayat were benefited by the programme. Students of SAEC enlightened the people on household waste management and citizen’s electoral responsibilities in the village panchayat area.



Sachin Adapa, member, Mangalore taluk panchayat inaugurated the programme. Rukiya, president, Gurupur gram panchayat, presided over the function. Sathish Bhat, district help centre, Waste Management Section was the resource person. Shakila Hegde, assistant professor, Political Science, SAEC coordinated the programme. Dr Manohar V Serrao, principal, St Aloysius Evening College, G M Udaya Bhat, vice-president of Gurupur village panchayat, Lions Club Metrogold president Ln C S.Bhandhary, secretary, Ln Hariprasad Rai and SAEC Students’ Council director Dr Donald Lobo, president Hithesh Madivala, elected members of Gurupur village panchayat and many members of the general public were present on the occasion. Sudhesh of II BCom compered the programme.
