Udupi: Teacher convicted for sexual harassment girl student, sentenced

Udupi, Feb 20: A teacher who sexually assaulted a girl student was sentenced to seven years imprisonment and fine by Justice Venkatesh Naik of the special POCSO Court of Udupi district on Monday, February 19.

A case was filed in Gangolli police station in 2014 against Keerthi Kumar, Headmaster of a school in Trasi accusing him of sexual harassment of a girl student studying in seventh grade of the same school.

Vijay Vasu Poojary, special district government prosecutor, had argued the case in favour of the prosecution.
