Udupi, Feb 19: Raghunath Shetty (60), residing at Kalya Darodguthu in Uliayargoly village near Kaup, ended his life by hanging himself near his home on Sunday February 18.
Shetty was going through depression since the last two years after his wife and children deserted him and began to live separately, it is gathered. In the past too he is said to have tried to end his life.
On Sunday, when he was alone with his mother at home, he suddenly told her about his intention to kill himself. He thereafter rushed to a nearby thicket and hanged himself from a tree by using a rope. Although his aged mother tried to catch up with him, he was too fast and before she reached the thicket, he was no more, it is gathered.
