Recycling of effluents - Mangaluru City Corporation emerges best in state

Mangaluru, Feb 19: City Managers Association Karnataka and directorate of municipal administration in the state have adjudged the city corporation here as the best in the state as far as recycling of effluents is concerned. The award meant for best recycling of effluents was given to the city corporation on Saturday February 17.

The award comprises one lac rupees in cash, citation, and certificate. City corporation commissioner, Mohammed Nazeer, and engineers, Raghupal and Madhu Manohar, received the award from minister for municipalities and local bodies, Eshwar Khandre, at a function organized in a hotel at Bengaluru on Saturday.

Minister K J George, municipal administration department principal secretary Mahendra Jain, urban development secretary Anjum Parvez, Dr R Vishal, and managing director of KUIDFC, A B Ibrahim, were present.

The corporation has been given this recognition for its efforts towards processing of effluents and supplying the same for industrial use.

    I am sure this is a joke ..The MCC has not yet completed the underground drainage work in the surathkal area funded by world bank
    This i feel is a testament of the efficiency of the way MCC functions.
