Sharjah organises charity auction for refugee children

Sharjah, Feb 15 (IANS/WAM): The Sharjah Children Biennial (SCB) will organise a charity auction on Thursday and the proceeds will be used to support refugee children.

The charity from the two-day auction, which will feature 65 artworks by children, will be shared between Sharjah-based humanitarian organisation Big Heart Foundation and Dar Al Ber Society in Dubai.

The Big Heart Foundation will use the donations to support refugee children in Jordan.

A workshop titled "Developing Creativity and Imagination of Children" will also be held on the side-lines of the event. The workshop aims to instil understanding and compassion in children as well as develop creativity and nurture their imagination through drawing and reading.

Themed "A World as Big as Your Imagination", the fifth edition of SCB received 785 entries by children from around the world, including refugee children from Al Zaatari camp in Jordan and the Dar Zayed Orphanage in Maldives.
