Udupi: People trying to steal cows from Shirur Math handed over to police

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Feb 13: Three persons, who were said to be trying to steal cows being looked after at the Shirur Math's base Math at Hiriyadka, were held by locals land handed to police for investigation. The incident happened on Saturday.

The arrested persons happen to be Jabir, Vijay Shetty, and Angara. They were found loitering about under suspicious circumstances in front of the Shirur base Math at Hiriyadka on Saturday evening. Driver of Shirur Math Swamiji, Prasad, and his friends, questioned the trio. At this, they fled from the spot. They were chased, stopped and questioned. They reportedly confessed that they had come there with the purpose of stealing bovine animals being reared in the Math. They were then taken to Hiriyadka police station and a case was registered against them.

The Math has several cattle under its shelter, and attempts are often made to steal them. A few days back too such an effort was made. On Wednesday last, a Scorpio car which came from the direction of Harikahandige at high speed had hit the car of the Swamiji near the gate of the Math before escaping. Even then, driver of Swamiji's vehicle, Prasad, who was in the driver's seat at that time, in a complaint filed in Hiriyadka station, had suspected that that the vehicle involved was carrying cattle illegally.

Jeevan..... You can dream of Godhra , to prove your DNA.... It is true that the criminal has to pay the price... and we have seen in the case of Bhaskar kothari, Tagodia, Muthalik ........... So let us think of good deeds only , instead of blaming the whole society for the criminal activities of few ....

    Jeevan,

Before you question the ruling government, please tell me - what were Vijay Shetty, and Angara were doing there !! ???

Did they go to worship at the Math, if so, why did they run away ?? When insiders turn thieves, you have no right to question the government.

The people should be punished who steals cows and rob the people, cheating people .Specially in raping case .These are crimes. Here there is not particular cast or religion involved these type of crimes .So should not bring politics or religion in between
there are people do crimes and escape and blame put on particular religion or on party .Even need to be punished the people who takes the law in their hand and beat people .Only the authority to be given to police or court to take actions

They should be Congress workers, hence they have the courage to do such acts as the government is their own in the state. They know very well that cattle thieves are rewarded in the state.
