As per my sources within the Industry Cause of the Fire is maintenance job in the water tank of the ship
Those who died are all Contract workers from Cochin .One of the person died was Safety Officer himself .
Now what might have caused the Fire ?
Big tank is called a Confined space in which there are many dangers .One of the danger is fire due to Oxygen enrichment .Lack of Oxygen is one of the cause of death so workers take Breathing Air Cylinders and to do the welding or cutting job Acytylene and 100% Oxygen both are required .If this Oxygen leaks during opening then even a small spark can cause very big fire .Even Cylinder blast may also be the cause .
One of the safety officer was on the spot means they might have taken enough precautions .But In India the amount of safety precautions taken is not enough .Many people bypass the standard Procedures to be followed for safety .
Very sad May their soul rest in peace
