Puttur: ‘Philo Ventura’ held at St Philomena College

Puttur, Feb 12: PG department of Commerce, St Philomena College organized national level UG management and PG cultural fest ‘Philo Ventura - AVIKAM 2018’ on February 8 in the college auditorium.

Former president of Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jeevan Saldanha in his inaugural address said, “Entrepreneur is a business leader. He is not supposed to accept the reality of the situation. He must always think about new technology and innovative methods of production.”

Campus director and chairman of Centre for PG Studies and Research Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro participated as the chief guest. Principal Prof Leo Noronha presided over the programme.



Bhagyashree and group presented the prayer song. Coordinator of the department Divyashree K welcomed the gathering. Student coordinator Lakshman rendered the vote of thanks. Raksha compered the programme.

The valedictory function was held in the evening. Campus director and chairman of Centre for PG Studies and Research Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro participated as the chief guest. Chartered accountant M Jagannath Kamath of Mangaluru and the chairman of Rai Estates and Builders Pvt Ltd, Puttur Ashok Kumar Rai participated as guests of honour. Principal Prof Leo Noronha delivered the presidential address.

Student coordinators Lakshman welcomed the gathering and Ashwitha rendered the vote of thanks. Assistant professor Avina Madtha presented the list of prize winners. Viyola compered the programme.

In UG management fest, the overall championship was bagged by Canara College Mangaluru. The runner-up trophy was secured by St Philomena College Puttur. In national level PG cultural fest, overall championship was bagged by Dr Shivarama Karantha Government First Grade College Bellare and runner up trophy was secured by St Agnes (Autonomous) College Mangaluru.
