Karkala, Feb 8: Mass protests were held by the Congress party members against MLA Sunil Kumar here on Wednesday, February 7 condemning his alleged derogatory and insulting comments relating to former chief minister Veerappa Moily, former MLA of Karkal Gopal Bhandary and Uday Shetty Muniyal.
A protest rally was taken from Karkala Anantashayana temple till Bandimutt earlier. Hundreds of congress activists took part in the protests held by youth congress.
Congress activists shouted slogans condemning the statements made by MLA Sunil Kumar and expressed anguish.
Udupi district Congress president Muniyalu Uday Shetty, Karkala youth Congress president Deepak Kotian and chief Congress leaders led the protests.
