Shiv Sena won't ally with BJP for Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha polls

Mumbai, Jan 23 (PTI): The Shiv Sena today passed a resolution not to align with the BJP and go solo in the Lok Sabha and Maharashtra Assembly polls next year.

The resolution was moved by Sena MP Sanjay Raut, who said the BJP had been demoralising the party for the last three years.

The resolution was passed unanimously in the party's National Executive meet here.

"I moved the resolution for the Shiv Sena to fight the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha polls on its own in 2019," Raut said.

He said the party will win at least 25 Lok Sabha seats (out of a total 48 in Maharashtra) and 125 Assembly seats (out of a total 288) in the state.

"The BJP allied with the Sena in the name of Hindutva and the Sena kept patience for Hindutva. However, the BJP in the last three years has been demoralising the Sena and using power to do so," Raut said.

Senior Sena leaders backed Raut's resolution.

There is nothing new in the saying of Shiva sena. It has already fought local bodies elections both urban and rural separately. The Shivsena wants its existence, It knows that BJP has become main party in Maharshtra state by putting both Congress ( I ) and NCP behind. Shiva sena knows that it is next target of BJP.

Can not understand your thoughts in supporting Shiva Sena. Bala saheb Udhav Now his son. Their own cousin separated from them because there is no transparency. Just because you hate BJP that does not mean you support anyone.

Might be both, MNS and SS may fight election together. Without proper ground work, Siv Sena may not have done this by severing election alliance with BJP.

The BJP's policy of use and throw has been well understood by the Shiv Sena. More allies of the BJP will desert them as we approach the next general elections.

first of all to bring bjp shiv sena back to power in Maharashtra one should thank to sharad pawar , that he who split the congress NCP coalition by withdrawing the support to congress and fought state election separately to accommodate bjp shivsena's smooth win.If congress and NCP with republican parties fought the last state election jointly they would have ruled the state now. for this game of sharad pawar , modi's government even awarded him padma bhusan in last republic day besides not allowing inquiry for all his misdeeds and corruption. If shiv sena and bjp fight separately in next election there will be a remote chances of their winning the election.

..you should know that PAWAR is MODI mentor..they have very cordial relationship personally..if today SS withdraws, NCP will support govt i am sure..In Gujrat, NCP also a factor for BJP win...they fielded many Patel candidates & vote splits which favored BJP..PAWAR was PM material once, he was backstabbed by SONIA..he wont forget it..

It was Pawar who back stabbed Congress and Sonia. Be honest in your comments.
It was Sharad Pawar revolted against Sonia Gandhi and asked about her nationality.

now no need to talk. It is understood, NCP will support BJP if SS withdraws the support.

What can we expect from SS that will take our nation towards development. It is a family organisation like that of Nehru/Indira/Rajiv/Sonia lRahul - when you think you and me will get an opportunity.

I think its a wise decision. Each party should stand by itself. Take decisions keeping in mind the poorest of the poor, women etc and also remember to consider all people as one with no difference of cast and creed. We all are the people of one Country and may the peace, care and unity be your aim.

..in early 80s they beat south Indians, burned Hotels of DK peoples, first they tolerated, then joined Underworld & given back, thereafter SS started to beat poor North Indians, it went on until BJP formed govt..now its reduced..they even culled chicken infront of Jain residential apartment to protest govt one day ban of non veg on Jain holiday(SS should have chosen other ways, but it didnt..infact its Congress brought rule)..in UNA Gujrat caught beating Dalit, blame came to BJP..Minorities always felt threatened under SS..now a days we can see ranting against MODI, praising Rahul/Mamata whIch is ideological complete different party..INDIA moving fast, population increasing & we need to create jobs, we need leaders with visions, not opportunists..

Just a stunt to be in news. We all know that SS is a Goonda party and hence no backing as such. 2019 is a long way off. Udhbav Thackrey has no leadership qualities to keep the party afloat. Some compromise formula will be struck with Amit Shah and thats it. They ll be back with BJP.
