Cloudy Tuesday, rains likely in Delhi


New Delhi, Jan 23 (IANS): It was a cloudy morning here on Tuesday with the minimum temperature recorded at 9.4 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average, the weather office said.

The Safdarjung observatory recorded only trace rainfall. "The sky will be generally cloudy during the day with light rains likely at some places," said an India Meteorological Department official.

Visibility stood at 600 metres. At least 16 trains were cancelled, 23 delayed and two rescheduled due to fog in several parts of northern India.

The maximum temperature was likely to hover around 21 degrees Celsius.

Humidity was recorded at 84 per cent at 8.30 a.m.

Monday's maximum temperature settled at 25.2 degrees Celsius, four notches above the season's average and the minimum temperature was recorded at 5.9 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average.
