Kasargod, Jan 21: Close on the heels of the accident at Madanthyar which claimed the lives of a young mother and her infant, another mother-daughter duo was killed in an accident, this time in Kasargod.

Shobha (32), a resident of Chattanchal here, and her 13-year-old daughter Vismaya died in an accident on the national highway here when a lorry went out of control and toppled over an auto rickshaw in which they were travelling. Four others sustained injuries.

Shobha's husband Raja (37), auto rickshaw driver Abdul Khader (48) and lorry driver as well as cleaner sustained injuries and have been admitted to hospital. Except for the lorry driver, the condition of all the injured is said to be serious.
