Mangaluru: Police arrest three persons for tearing off banners in Mulki

Mangaluru, Jan 20: Mulki police on Friday, January 20, arrested three persons for allegedly tearing off the banners that were put for promoting various programmes at Kukkikatte - Kollur area.

Pradeep, Pratap and Mohan, all residents of Kavathur-Elathur area, are the persons arrested.

The accused were produced in court and remanded to judicial custody subsequently.

Police arrested these culprits based on the complaint filed by an eyewitness who saw the bike-borne trio tearing off the banners.

Incidents of tearing off of buntings and banners have been on the increase of late. This is done in order to disturb the social peace and harmony, police believe.

Mulki police showed exemplary quickness in nabbing the accused keeping in mind the recent happenings in the district.

    For public awareness and our peaceful society unity, police dept must trace out their gang leader and financier show in all media news. So there is no any strike bundh hartal stabbing.
    Only the gangstrs rowdy's will lose their earning hope no public loss.

    Future smart city Mangalore still not learned from the deaths of Deepak and Baheer.
    Once again it is the corporation responsible to control the banners, buntings and posters. It does spoil the image of the city need tough regulations. This is the total wastage in the era of digital world.

    I would request the corporation and District commissioner to come up with rule for all organisers.
    Below are the proposal;
    1. No organisation is allowed to hang posters, banners, bunting, cut out, flags without the prior approval of law enforcement officer, District Commissioner and Corporation.
    2. All the print material should be pre approved by the law enforcement officer, District commissioner and corporation.
    3. Organiser is solely responsible in written for hanging and removal of print material in display.
    4. Organiser in written responsible for damage to the property or deaths due to its sensitivity of print contents.
    5. Organiser should furnish the details of displays were he wants of display the print contents. Government authority is final to remove any are deemed sensitive.

    No display of poster adds to the beauty of the city instead I would request them to plant flowering trees no matter it blossoms saffron flower or lust green which provides shade.
    As far as these culprits best punishment manual scavenging will deter them for life.

    Perfect Solution..

    Would like to add a few points.

    1) Display the posters only in the premises of Church/Mosques /Temples.
    - If people want to get notified they will when when visit the above religious places.

    2) If approved by the MCC, the posters to be removed very next day after the event.

    3) Wherever food is served at these events, Disposable plates, Cups etc used to be cleared in next 24 hours by the organizers.

    4) Any such events should restrain from using loudspeakers, or have a standard decibel acceptance.

    5) The event to be concluded by 11:00 PM

    Tie them to the tree in the centre of Mulki and let passerby give them nice pastings at least for one year.
    Those who instigated them are also to be tied to the same tree and given the severest punishment, which ever party or religion they belong.
