Mangaluru, Jan 18: In a unique incident, the complainants as well as the accused were sentenced in a case, judgment relating to which was announced on Tuesday January 16 at the chief district and sessions court.

The court was pronouncing judgement relating to a case of attack that happened near Alekala Madani Junior College at Ullal in 2014. Zakir Hussain, V H Ummer Farooq, Muhammed Shahid, Faizal alias Muhammed Faizal, Farooq Sporting, Beef Nazeer, Iqbal Arabi, and Shafiq Fakruddin Razack Sana were sentenced in this case.

It is said that when Zakir Hussain from Alekala and V H Ummer Farooq were walking together at 11 am on June 17, 2014, the accused, identified as Muhammed Shahid, Faizal alias Muhammed Faizal, Farooq Sporting, Beef Nazeer, Iqbal Arabi, Shafiq Fakurddin, and Razack stopped them and attacked them with cricket bats, iron rods, and iron punches and tried to kill them.

In their counter complaint, Muhammed Shahid and others said that when they were walking by the side of Alekala Madani Junior College, accused Zakir Hussain and V H Ummer Farooq stopped them, abused them and  attacked them with lethal weapons. Both these cases were registered in Ullal police station.

Judge of the court, K S Beelagi, came to the conclusion that the accused were guilty. Muhammed Shahid, Faizal alias Muhammed Faizal, Shafiq Fakduddin and Razack Sana were imposed fine of Rs 1,000 each. In case of failure to pay fine, they will have to undergo ten days inside prison. Accused Iqbal Arabi and Farooq Sporting were given two years rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 10,000 each. Accused Beef Nazeer was imposed fine of Rs 20,000 with the condition that in case of failure to pay fine, he will have to undergo 60 days of imprisonment.

Public prosecutor, Kudirya Pushparaj Adyantaya had presented this case.

The judge, at the same time, found that in the  case of counter complaint, guilt of Zakir Hussain and V H Ummer Farooq has been proved. They were handed down fine of Rs 6,000 each. In case they fail to pay fine, they have to undergo 40 days imprisonment. In this case, public prosecutor, Raju Poojary Bannadi, had appeared on behalf of the prosecution.
