Mangaluru: Deepak murder- accused get three-day police custody

Mangaluru, Jan 17: Azeez Katipalla and Azeem Katipalla, who were arrested on Monday relating to the murder of Deepak Rao from Katipalla, were produced in the court here on Tuesday January 16. The court remanded them to three-day police custody.

Deepak was murdered at Katipalla on January 3. In a swift action, the police had succeeded in arresting four persons out of which two, identified as Pinki Nawaz from Krishnapura and Rizwan from Katipalla, who were injured in police firing continue to be treated in hospital. The other two, Irshan and Naushad, are in judicial custody.

Azeez and Azeem, who are in police custody, are being subected to intensive grilling, it is said. As the accused have given some more details during the interrogation, it is suspected that more persons were involved in this murder. The police are now on the lookout for others involved with this murder, sources added.
