Mangaluru: Will end my life if justice not done - Ilyas' wife in letter to police

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Jan 16: Wife of Ilyas, who was a member of the notorious 'Target Group' from Ullal and was involved with several criminal cases and was recently slain, has come out with an open letter to the police seeking justice relating to the murder of her husband.

Through this letter, the lady, Farzana, has sought justice in the case. She said that a few days prior to his killing, ilyas had taken an oath in her presence that henceforth he would not get involved with any kinds of frictions and fights. She said that sadly, her husband's friend named Dawood told him that he was not agreeable for this proposal and that he is prepared to sacrifice his friendship. She claims in the letter that Dawood threatened to kill Ilyas, duly saying that he is not afraid of anyone as he has the backing of Usman Kallapu, Rahim Manchila, Safwan, and many others.

The lady says that the threat posed by her husband's friends has come true. "I want justice. My earnest wish is that my husband's assassins should get maximum punishment. I feel like committing suicide. If I fail to get justice, I will surely commit suicide by hanging and you will be responsible if this happens," she has threatened in the letter.

She should have informed police at the very first crime he did in our society. Why she kept mum and watched all crimes he did to students, business people and others who become victim of this group lead by her husband. Now why all these letters and requests ? Now she realize the real pain when this man is killed by some criminals in the same line and his own friends. Very bad and our police and law will handle this to nab the culprits...

    Elroy,
If she had informed / objected long back or after his first crime as you say, she wouldn't be alive today to write this letter.
Only thing, what she could have done is, like today (how she is threatening Police), could have threatened her husband to leave him (divorce) if he is not improving. If he was really a good & God fearing man, he would have gave up his wrong doings or he would have given her divorce to continue, to achieve what has achieved now!

In the movie shoot out at Lokhandwala there's a dialogue which says when a man becomes a goonda and people are scared of him, it's equally wrong on the part if him family like mother , wife etc to feel proud that people are scared of that man. People should respect you, not be scared. Only God knows how many innocent people this Target group has made suffer strating from the sexually harassed medical student couple to people looted on the roads to murdered ones.

Gone are the days when we had to die and people would say you will get heaven or hell. Heaven and hell is here itself, what you do you get back in the same life.

You should have woken up very much earlier sister, what's the use of talking now? People who live by the sword have death waiting for them to blink an eye for a second and they are gone.

I feel a bit sorry for this lady. So from the article its clear that the wife knew about Ilyas activities all the while. She should have immediately informed the police the first instance itself. Things would have been sorted out. But she enjoyed all the benefits money can buy and kept silent all the while. Now when he is killed she wants the cops to act fast. The next thing we would hear is she would blame Modi.
