Mangaluru: Liver Cancer successfully treated at A J Hospital

Mangaluru, Jan 16: A huge liver cancer weighing 3 kg was successfully removed at A J Hospital & Research Centre by team of surgical gastroenterologists (Dr Ashwin Alva and Dr Rohan Shetty).

A 68-year-old patient hailing from Uttara Kannada district presented with complaints of loss of weight and appetite. A CT scan confirmed a large cancer (Hepatocellular cancer) in right side of liver. He underwent surgery (Right hepatectomy) successfully and was cured of disease.

Dr Rohan Shetty and Dr Ashwin Alva have been doing various types of liver surgeries and this by faris the biggest tumour removed successfully in A. J Hospital & Research Centre.
