Mumbai, Jan 15: Mumbai University Kannada department held a lecture by veteran author and scholar Dr Janardhan Bhat on Dr Shivarama Karanth at Kalina campus, Santacruz east on Saturday January 13.

Dr G N Upadyaya, head of the department of Kannada at Mumbai University chaired the programme. Veteran authors Dr G D Joshi, Dr Vishwanath Karnad, Kannada campaigner S K Sunder and drama artiste Mohan Marnad were on the dais.

Dr Sunitha M Shetty, Rajiva Nayaka, Y V Madhusoodan Rao, Dr Dakshayini Yadavalli, Dr Ishwara Alevooru, Kutpadi Ramachandra M Ganiga, Kolyaru Raju Shetty, Mitra Venkatraj, Omdas Kannangar, Avinash Kamath, S Daya, A Narasimha Rao, P S Karanath, Narayan Rao and others were present.

Sushila S Devadiga sang a prayer song. Kannada department professor Dr Porrnima S Shetty welcomed the gathering and compered the programme.

Dr Shamala Prakash proposed the vote of thanks.
