Moodbidri, Jan 13: The body of a middle aged man was found in a sack under Kaikanjikadapu Bridge, Moodukonaje here this evening, Saturday, January 13.

Shirthady gram panchayat president Latha P Hegde had gone to Kaikanjikadapu to bring back cows left for grazing when she saw a sack with flies hovering around it. She informed police after growing suspicious.

Police who arrived opened the sack and found the body of a middle aged man in it. Local people suspect that the man might have been murdered by strangulation. The killers apparently placed the body in the sack and threw it below the bridge.

The face and the head have severe bruises. People suspect that it might be because it was thrown from about twenty feet high bridge.

The deceased is believed to be aged between 45 to 50 years and may have been a daily wager. He was clothed in saffron colour lungi and a shirt with blue stripes. He also had a wrist watch on. The body was in a decomposed state. Police suspect that he might have died about three days ago.

As there are no missing person complaints lodged in Moodbidri police station, it is suspected that the man was from outside Moodbidri. Moodbidri police have registered a case and are investigating.
