Mangaluru: Muhurat of Tulu film ‘Patthis Gang’ to be held on Jan 22

Mangaluru, Jan 13: The muhurat of new Tulu film ‘Patthis Gang’ will be held at Shri Mangaladevi Temple here on January 22.

Mayor Kavita Sanil will be the chief guest, director-actor Devdas Kapikad, director-producer Kishor D Shetty and director-producer Vijaykumar Kodialbail will be the guests of honour.

Dedicated to legendary Tulu comedy actor late Anand Bolar, the film will be directed by his son Suraj Bolar popularly known as DJ Suraj. He has written the story as well.

‘Patthis Gang’ will star Mohan Sheni, Vismay Vinayak, Ajay Raj, and Chandrahas Ullal. Navyatha Rai will make her debut as lead actress. Tulu actors Aravind Bolar, Kishore D Shetty, Vijaykumar Kodialbail, and Deepak Rai Panaje will be seen in special roles.

Music for the film will be composed by Manikanth Kadri. Siddhu G S will handle the cinematography. It will be edited by Suresh Nayak. Rajesh Kudla will be the production in-charge. The film will be presented by Manoj Kumar and produced by Inbox Creatives, Preetham M N and Suraj Bolar.

Speaking to daijiworld.com, director Suraj says, “The film will be one-of-its-kind. “Patthis Gang’ is a dark comedy thriller which will be a new experience for Coastalwood viewers. The film is about three conmen played by Mohan Sheni, Vismay Vinayak, and Ajay Raj who con people. As Ajay is from the Tamil film industry, he will have dialogues in Kundapur-style Kannada. Chandrahas Ullal will play the villain and will play an important character in the second half of the film.

“Navyatha Rai is a Mangalurean. She is currently pursuing her engineering in Dharwad. She will play the female lead.

“There will be two songs in the film including one promotional song. The film will have top notch background score. The film will be made on a budget of Rs 70 lac. We will try to present the beauty of Mangaluru city in the film as we shoot here and Moodbidri in a schedule of 27 days,” he says.

With an experience handling the production responsibilities of seven films in Sandalwood, Suraj has made an in-depth research on the subject.

“The film is inspired by real life incidents. ‘Do not get conned’ is the message of the film,” concludes Suraj.
