Kundapur, Jan 13: Swamy Vivekananda had said that differences of religion are differences of countries 125 years ago. “It has spread in the country in the name of Love Jihad. ABVP should announce a war against Love Jihad, religious conversion and distortion of Hindus,” said Akhila Bharathiya Vidyarthi Parishat co-organizing secretary for Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, Vinay Bidare.

He spoke as chief guest at the youth awareness conference on Saturday, Jan 13 held at Kundapur R Shetty auditorium, Kundapur.

“Hindu girls are being brainwashed in the guise of love. The whereabouts of 600 girls cheated in 960 cases are unknown. The ISIS network is extremely active and ABVP who is raising its voice against it are labeled as terrorists in an attempt to suppress their campaign.”

Entrepreneur Giliar Rathnaker G Shetty lit the lamp, garlanded the portrait of Vivekananda and set the programme in motion. New Delhi Dental council of India vice president Dr Jayaker Shetty M presided.

ABVP Mangaluru division secretary Tejasvi S N gave the keynote address. He said the strength of students who have gathered have challenged political power and those who participate in anti India works.

All the chairs in R N Shetty auditorium where the conference was held were filled. Seats were also arranged on the balcony. Nearly four thousand students from Kundapur and surrounding places took part.

ABVP Kundapur convener Vaibhav Bhat welcomed everyone. “This is the year of 155th birth anniversary of Vivekananda and 150th birth anniversary of Sr Niveditha, his follower and symbol of faith. An enthusiastic battle can be seen among youth here. Vivekananda had raised his voice against superstition and for the downtrodden. He had campaigned for becoming one with the Almighty without opposing any religion which is the essence of all religions,” said Vinay Bidire.

Mass rally on foot by ABVP:

A rally was held from Kundapur Gandhi maidan, Shastri circle, Parijatha circle, via new bus stand till R N Shetty auditorium earlier as a prelude to the conference.
