Mangaluru: Tulu film producers submit petition to CM requesting subsidy for all films

Mangaluru, Jan 10: Members of Tulu Film Producers Association on January 8 met Chief Minsiter Siddaramaiah in the city and submitted him a petition citing various problems faced by Coastalwood cinema.

They requested the CM to provide subsidy for all the films released in Tulu, and also better cinema theatres to screen Tulu films. Further, they requested the CM to increase the monthly stipend of cine artistes of Coastalwood from Rs 1,500 to Rs 5,000.

Tulu Film Producers Association president Rajesh Brahmavar along with producers Devdas Kapikad, R Dhanraj, Sachin A S Uppinangady, Sudesh Bhandary, Gangadhar Shetty, Sharmila Kapikad, Preetham, Uday and others met the CM to submit the petition.

    Why subsidy on tax payers money. I am not talking of Tulu or kannada or hindi film Industry . I am talking as a whole.
    People are going to the theatre & Multiplex to watch films (ticket charges). Same films are been telecast in Movie channels (satellite rights). (Then Dubbing and remake of the movie - again charges are demanded.

    Film producers Directors actors etc are paid in crores + Money from endorsements and aother business ventures.

    Now again subsidy. instead give that money to poor farmers and soldiers.

    Tulu film industry is developing and picking up which really deserves financial support from the government to grow better.Hope for the best response of the state government
