Mangaluru: CM Siddaramaiah visits bereaved families of Deepak, Basheer

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Jan 7: Chief minister Siddarmaiah on Sunday January 7 paid visits to the residences of Deepak Rao and Basheer, both of whom were murdered by miscreants on January 3.

The CM was in the city to inaugurate musical fountain and toy train at Kadri Park here. But prior to that, he chose to visit the two bereaved families and expressed his condolences.

Siddaramaiah, on his way to the city from Moodbidri, first visited Deepak's residence in Katipalla, Suratkal. He was accompanied by MLA Mangaluru North Mohiuddin Bava.

He directed the deputy commissioner to provide Deepak's younger brother Satish a job in MRPL.

At Basheer's residence, the CM announced a compensation of Rs 10 lac. Basheer's son appealed to the CM to take strict action against his father's killers.

The CM spoke to both the grief-stricken families and directed the police to take stringent action against the culprits in both the cases.

Deepak was murdered at Katipalla on January 3. The police arrested four persons hours after the incident. The same night, Basheer was attacked at Kottara Chowki in retaliation. Basheer passed away on Sunday January 7.

Ministers U T Khader and Ramanath Rai, and mayor Kavita Sanil also accompanied the CM.

    Dear CM,

Please ensure killers of both murders are punished ASAP under your rule. No need of your visits, it brings nothing to bereaved families.

Why Our honorable CM did not visit Prashant poojary, Sharat madiwala and Paresh mesta's home ? this time he had to visit basheer's home so he could not resist himself visiting deepak's home fearing about people reaction and also due to coming election. people are not fools.

What a pity... still searching for stone in the rice.... Please for god sake keep politics out when u speak about death. When CM chose to visit victims family, please welcome it. please don't compare 'Y' and 'why not'. If u have gutz ask Mangalore MP, who is absent from all these scene. Ask him why he cant visit both these families. Ask Local MP and MLAs to take care of the problems in their own constituencies.

    Respected CM,

    We welcome your courtesy visit.

Please keep in mind that if the police force was able and efficient both the deaths could have been avoided.

Both the murders have been committed by hardcore criminals having past history. These criminals were not booked properly in previous crimes and they are let free easily. They are also not kept under watch. They are having free run and committing further murders. What police force is doing? Now the present story ends and all will forget and these criminals will continue their free run. Your HM has lost control completely.

Mangalore is becoming a place of lawlessness . Murderers and Goondas are roaming freely. People have lost faith on police force and scared to move freely. First please you need to do combing operation in the district and make a list of hardcore criminals and make them report on timely basis. Keep a watch on them if they are not arrested and are out on bail.

Please add some spine to police force. Arresting within few hours is not people want. People want police force to act so that these criminals do not have chance to do such crimes.

Why Elections cannot be fought through ideas of development and prosperity? Its best to remove the Cast, religion tags from all our Sensus initiatives and evaluate purely on economic criteria. This will create a healthy society and all deserving will get the benefits irrespective of cast and creed. More and more educated and broadminded Youth should enter politics as voice of the democracy.
