Azaan Thota has done what other cricketers have not been able to do. Scoring a triple century in whatever conditions is not easy at all. The Udupi boy looks a good batting prospect. But before he fades away and disappears he should be taken care of by good coaches and sports officials of the state. Better still if he moves off to Bangalore or Mumbai where he will get numerous chances to play at a higher level. If he is really good he can score anywhere and this will herald him to get the attention of the selectors.
sorry to say that he should quickly decide and get into one of the state capital cities for better prospects. This is what current India batsman K.L.Rahul did and went off to Bangalore from Surathkal. I knew a good all rounder from Surathkal long ago who was a brilliant player. But the lad did not get bigger opportunities and went out of the cricket scene eventually. This should not happen to a budding cricketer like Azaan. With a bit of luck he should be hitting more boundaries and sixes and pleasing every one of his well wishers from the coastal areas. Here's wishing Azaan all the best. Time for you to aim to play in the U-19 state team and then climb up the ladder of success. DENZIL FERNANDES, MANGALORE

Nice to hear triple century from young lad Azaan and that too with Mac Dsouza.Congratulations to both for achieving the biggest partnership hope one day you both will represent Indian Team and make your parents and our country proud.
As Mac Dsouza is the son of Prakash Dsouza the best ex technically sound batsman we had in Mangalore and was the product of St.Aloysius High School and college as there was no media hype in 1985 ,otherwise Macs dad would have played in Indian Team.

Congrsts Azaan. Its not easy to score 300 in any forms of cricket. Guess he broke the record in local level. We have talent in twin districts but lacks garnishers. Here sports being neglected. I remeber Vandana Rao and Raymond Dsouza and nobody else as far as my knowledge.
