Mangaluru Jan 1: In a rare incident a man created nuisance by vandalising his own house, attacking his family members and stabbing his father.

Naveen is the person who troubled his family and neighbours. The incident took place at Beltangady.

Naveen got drunk during his New Year Eve party. After returning from the party, he broke window glass, television and other glass items in his residence. When his family members and neighbours objected, he even attacked the family members and later stabbed his father Manjunath with a glass piece.

Manjunath was taken subsequently to a hospital for treatment.

Belthangady police are investigating the case.

Other incidents

Mangaluru police acted tough against drivers who took to drinks on the New Year Eve on Sunday, December 31 by registering 85 drink and drive cases.

Five people suffered minor injuries on Sunday night after their car toppled near Pumpwell in city.

Kadri Police visited the spot. The car was lifted with the help of a crane.
