Mangaluru: Celebrations aplenty as city welcomes New Year in style

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (RJP)

Mangaluru, Jan 1: As the clock struck midnight, the city erupted in joyous celebrations welcoming the New Year with much spirit and gusto.

In spite of restrictions placed by the city commissionerate about timings, banning of New Year parties in public places and stricter guidelines for the year, the city bathed in celebrations as the year 2017 faded into oblivion, and paved way for the dawn of New Year, 2018. At the stroke of midnight, the city erupted in joy and dazzling fireworks lit the night sky everywhere.

There were plenty of New Year parties across the city. Live orchestra with the latest film songs hits, DJs playing peppy dance numbers, laser lights and lavish spreads of food and drink added spark to the occasion. Revelers, chiefly made of youngsters, enjoyed the music and entertainment and danced away to glory till after midnight. In most of the cases, New Year died down at midnight due to restrictions.

While some Hindu organisations like Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal had called for banning of late night parties and threatened with consequences if they went on, police made sure that no untoward incident took place.
Security was tight all over city. Police commissioner T R Suresh personally managed the security situation with the help from senior officers and police personnel.

Kulshekar Church

Bejai Church

Vamanjoor Church

Earlier in the evening, New Year celebrations began on a solemn note with Eucharistic celebrations at all churches in city including Rosario Cathedral.

Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza celebrated the Mass at Bajal Church this year.

    Dear Rajesh,

Show me the scriptures from the whole of the Holy Bible the phrase which you accuse EARTH IS FLAT.

For your kind information intellectual scientists have not proven Darwin's Theory of Evolution.

    It is still a theory.

Finally, the petty petty Hindu kings of India were fighting to extend their borders and couldn't find the original calander.

When there was not a 01 date found in the Hindu calander such calander is a fake.

Finally there is no original scriptures available as much as Christians holy scriptures preserved even in papyrus in the Devine Library in London for the future generations to read and perceive.

So if calendar is not started on year01, then it is fake? So let’s say if a company called WIPRO publishes a calendar to commemorate its 40th year, you will call WIPRO calendar as fake be cause it did not have calendar when it was formed in 1980 ? What a nonsense?

Darwin;s is just theory, but Adam Eve is prove? Oh my god

And flat earth you need reference?
Isaiah 11:12 & Revelation 7:1 - FOUR CORNERS OF THE EARTH
Job 38:13 - ENDS OF THE EARTH
The earth/world is firmly established; it cannot be moved. (From the NIV Bible, Psalm 93:1)"

I know some facts are so bitter, but facts are facts dear.. you cannot deny or twist.

Dear Rajesh, Udupi, My forefathers were from Adam and Eve, followed by Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

It is you who is unable to digest the inventions were all made by our forefathers/ancestors.

They were all Humans and not cattle's.
    Who killed Sanskrit???!!!
Americans, Arabs, Europeans, Australians or any Christians or Muslims.

Concerning to Inventions, you cannot claim and you are providing us to digest your facts which are not corroborated and you people pat your own back.

So you say Christian Era is not perfect and you say Sanskrit is perfect???!!!
People were unknown of the exact date of the Birth of Jesus Christ.
Yet it behoves a certain date and corroborates Jesus was born.

So which Sanskrit Calendar is perfect and from which exact date it was started.

EVEN CHRISTIAN ERA IS NOT A PERFECT HOWEVER IT WAS MORE OR LESS
    WIDELY ACCEPTED AND ESTABLISHED

I respect your views.. but in this information era, I find it difficult to understand why people cannot think rationally. Earth is not flat even if some scriptures say. And many intellectuals have said, , Adam and Eve Didn’t Exist. When Charles Darwin published his “Origin of Species’ in 1859, many intellects in the world have come out the earlier apple theory. anyways, I don’t want to challenge your belief, you can stay on.

Thanks for accepting that western calendar is not perfect. Yes it is forced upon us and now it is impossible to go back.

Coming to indian calender. It is not that our Year No 001 is the day when earth is formed. It is aligned to earth movement, that is all. Some era started after famous kings, but it never got changed.
Why I say it is scientific is because the almanac preparers who use just pen paper and not computers, can easily tell you which is next solar eclipse or lunar eclipse. Predicting full moon and new moon is child’s play. Tell me is it possible for someone to find eclips day by looking at modern calendar without use of computer? I know you may find it difficult to believe it. Not just you, 99% of hindus also laugh at my words .that is the sad part of hindusim.. no one else killed sansrikt. We brahmins killed it by not teaching it to others....

    Happy new year!

While romans copied our calendar, history never gives the due credit.. hardly anyone know how the calendar flew from east to west
Romans originally had only 10 months in the year! No Jan and Feb.. And most of the names directly lifted from sanstrit – 10. Dasha became December, 9 – Nava – November, 8 – Asta = October, 7 – Sapta- September.. as winter got too long they added Jan and Feb.. wow…. Still Dec remained as 10th month (Deca). Failed to follow logic after copying .. LOL

Even the weekly calendar also lifted from here . Ravivar – Ravi = Sun) is Sunday.. Somvar – Monday. Sani – Saturn-day..

But then today Indians think it is western calender and celebrate new year on a day that has no relevance to earth of sun.. what a pity!!

T.V. is invented by an Indian.
    Sanskrit was killed by Americans.
Petrol was found out by an Indian.
The telephone is invented by an Indian.
The LIght/Bulb is invented by an Indian.
The computer is invented by an Indian.
The Cell Phones were invented by an Indian.
The first man landed on Moon was an Indian.
The gravity of the earth was found out by an Indian.

What Churchill has said is becoming true in the Year 2014 and as on date.

Which calendar Indian government is following.
What is the weekly rest day in India.

The Christian Era or Hindu Era.

There are facts that is difficult to digest for many I know.. I have given ‘exact’ transition in Sanskrit. And I never claimed on mobile or electricity bulb.. so don’t try to make fun of the achievements of your own forefathers in India.

Yes the world follows Christian era, not because it is perfect, but because it was mostly ruled by british at some point. It is impossible to go back to history now… but that does not make it right, isn’t it? Starting with 10 months for the year alone shows how much silly those people were..
