Bantwal: Minor girl attempts suicide on youth’s fake marriage promise

Bantwal, Dec 30: A minor girl attempted to commit suicide after a youth who promised to marry her did not fulfill his promise.

The girl is a 9th standard student at a school in Vittal. As her brain has become inactive, she is in a critical condition. A case against Mangalapadav Darkhas, Veerakamba resident Rashid (22) is registered at Vitla police station in this regard.

Suspect Rashid was said to be in love with the girl. The girl had informed her family about it in September this year. Her family members had said that they would get the girl married once she reaches marriageable age. Rashid was meanwhile preparing to fix his marriage with a girl from Bolantur. Rashid had informed about it to the girl through other people. The girl who received the news tried to commit suicide by hanging when there was nobody at her house on December 21.

The girl is currently being treated at Deralakatte hospital. The boy is abroad.

    Girl was a minor.Her parents should have taken care that girl doesnt indulge later in any thing with lover.Sad it happened.sad .she was not in a age to get marry.whoom to blame now?Boy should be punished for making promise to marry to a minor girl .He should have first asked her parents.Now he has escaped.
