Belagavi: Don't help Karnataka, till it resolves boundary dispute, Maharashtra urged

Belagavi, Dec 28 (DHNS): The Marathi Yuva Manch, an organisation aligned with the Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti (MES), has urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis not to help Karnataka get the Mahadayi issue resolved till it resolves the Karnataka-Maharashtra boundary dispute.

The Manch said Karnataka was implementing the Mahadayi project in the disputed area in Khanapur taluk, Belagavi district, which as per the recommendations of the Mahajan Commission should go to Maharashtra as it has 100% Marathi-speaking population.

In a letter to Fadnavis on Thursday, a copy of which was released to the press here, the Manch said Karnataka had been making all efforts for implementing the Mahadayi project to meet the drinking water requirements in North Karnataka region.

It said, Mahadayi was not a bilateral issue between Karnataka and Goa, and Maharashtra was also a party to it.

Irony is that; chief of women wing of Belagavi Congress, Laxmi R Hebbalkar supports Belagavi joining Maharastra. She has participated in the support march and chanted "Jai Maharastra". No action has been taken so far.

We from tulunad also oppose mahadayi river project until tulunad becomes an independent state. We should not celebrate kannaderna rajyotsava. We should fight for tulunad rajya and celebrate tulunad rajyotsava. I fully spport the claims of belgaum . They are maratis. Why should they learn kannad. I like maratis a lot. Umlike tuluvas they dont accept injustce. Tulu nad people are the only people who have no problem in accepting injustice.Let's learn from them and be proud of tulunad language and culture. Tulu language is 10000 times better than kannad.
Let's all fight for tulunad state. Jai tulunadu

Please ignore this people. may be backing of Maharashtra government itself to divert from main issues. Many a time many ruling parties periodically taken up this border issues when they fail to implement their own economical and development progresses. Karnataka and Maharashtra border issue given birth two political parties in Maharashtra but now they are not worried about the border issue at all expect some periodical rituals of talking this issues. Therefore there is no point in taking such statement seriously.

Dear Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti (MES), -Akkal ke Andhe MES, read the Mahajan report properly, it's clearly written that Belagavi is belongs to Karnataka and earlier in the 80's Maharashtra was against that report. Now suddenly how did you remember Mahajan report? As usual isn't in the TWISTED form ? In which BESHARAM JANARA PARTY is having Master Degree!!!! Remember, Karnataka is a self sufficient state!!!!!!!

Marathi yuva manch is comparable with hurriyat conference of Kashmir, both working against the Government, one on language issue and other on religious issue. One is supported by cross the border goons and other is supported by cross border terrorists.

    1. Once upon a time most of the people used to go to Mumbai for jobs. Now it's not the case anymore. Karnataka is equally developed just like Maharashtra. If Mumbai is business capital of India then Bengaluru it IT captial. Marathi organizations need to know that Maharashtra needs the help of Karnataka just like the other way around.
    2. When the states were formed on the basis of language & other factors, the division was not perfect. For eg- Kasargod was merged into Kerala could be because of swap of areas where the Mangaluru-Bengaluru highway passes through which has more people speaking Malayalam.
    3. It was a good decision of the Karnataka govt., to build Suvarna Soudha in Belagavi to give a befitting reply to these organizations.
    4. Most of these people do not have any jobs and the Karnataka govt., should try to give employment to these people.
