Bengaluru, Dec 28: A girl has alleged that Subramanya, hero of Kannada film 'Hombanna', raped her after giving juice laced with sedatives.

Accused Subramanya has fled from Bengaluru as the victim lodged a complaint at Basavanagudi police station. Subramanya hails from Thirthahalli in Shivamogga district.

The victim of alleged rape has stated in the complaint that she and her family know Subramanya for the last two years.

“Subramanya had spoken to my family and said that he will marry me. His parents also knew this matter. When I asked him about the date, he said marriage will take place after the release of his film on July 7 this year. Then he told me once his housewarming programme is over, he will marry me. He kept on postponing the days like that,” says the victim in the complaint.

“He took me on November 1 saying that there is a party in the house of his elder sister. I thought his family was aware of this. But he took me to his room instead of the house of his sister. He gave me juice to drink. I became dazed after that. When I came back to senses, there were no clothes on his and my body. I came to know then that Subramanya had raped me. When I questioned, he kept saying that he will marry me and asked me to be quiet. Then he started ignoring me after a few days,” the complaint continues.

“When I asked him why he does not marry me, he said that he wants a girl who can invest Rs 20 lac on a film. He said that I am poor. He also asked me to compromise with people from film industry when they come. I refused. He then made unfounded allegations against me and my family and humiliated us. When I confronted him, he threatened to kill me,” states the complaint.
