Mangaluru: Janardhana Poojary's autobiography may be out in January

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Dec 19: The autobiography of undisputed loyalist of Indira Gandhi family and a politician from coastal Karnataka with clean image, B Janardha Poojary, will most probably be released during January 2018. Reports say that the book is undergoing final touches at the printing press.

Poojary is well known all over the country for his Loan Melas organized through banks for disbursement of loans to poor people at low rates of interest when he was the deputy finance minister at the centre. Therefore, Poojary has rightly named his autobiography, 'Saalamelada Sangrama (Battle of Loan Melas)'.

Poojary had revealed a year back that he had decided to pen his autobiography and that he was sitting late in the nights to reminisce past incidents and record the same.

Poojary verbal tirades against the state government at that time had embarrassed the state leaders, particularly, chief minister Siddaramaiah. His barbs at Siddaramaiah and demand for chief minister's resignation had also given rise to anger among party leaders. All these have given rise to curiosity about the contents of his upcoming autobiography.

Poojary, who used to organize press conferences frequently in the past on various issues, has remained quiet since the last some months. It is gathered that age-related health complications have been bothering him, and memory has been failing him now and then. Poojary, who has distanced himself from active politics, has been making efforts to complete his autobiography now.

Poojary was counted among a handful of people in the close circles of Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi and his loyalty to that family has remained unshaken. He belongs to a rare breed of politicians who remained honest and sincere all through their lives in spite of polluted atmosphere prevalent around. As per information, his autobiography contains details about his days of poverty in childhood, education, life as an advocate, political life, construction of Kudroli temple etc. However, some of the things have been kept under wraps. It is unknown whether he will touch upon political rivalry within his own party in the coast.

Poojary has been assisted in completing his autobiography by journalist, Laxman Kodse, and Poojary's close associate, Harikrishna Bantwal. Poojary said that 90 percent of the autobiography has been completed and the balance would be completed in about two weeks time.

It is as yet not known as to who will release this autobiography, although names like former President, Pranab Mukherjee, and Justice Santosh Hegde are being coined at present.

At least I am not intrested in this ....I have so many important and intresting adventures to understand. ... Janna. ... took money to sign on my first passport application that needed a public servent's endorsement. And those days his office was opp to central market and no cell phones. . No communication. .. and we had wait for hours in Q without knowing when Janna would be arriving. . Many times even after waiting in line for hours later, we were told he will not come to his office because of other reasons.

Sorry do not misinterpret. Janmanna is humble and nice person without any doubt. Those days we had to get the PP applications attested by Gaz. Officials and there were fees involved for that purpose and nothing beyond that. Even notary public charges for that purpose. Pls do not politicise my comments.
