Mangaluru: MCC Bank celebrates Christmas at Sneha Sadan

Mangaluru, Dec 18: The Mangalore Catholic Co-operative Bank Ltd (MCC Bank) organized a Christmas celebrations at Sneha Sadan, Gurpur Kaikamba here on Sunday December 17.

Francis Cutinho, chairman of MCC Bank presided over the programme. Fr Antony Lobo, parish priest of Our Lady of Pompei Church, Gurpur Kaikamba was the chief guest. Fr Teji Thomas, director of Sneha Sadan and Sr Jancy, Director of Jeeva Daan were the guests of honour.

Directors of MCC Bank Stephen Pinto, Veronica Judi Pinto and Anil Lobo were present.

The celebration began with a prayer led by staff of MCC Bank and prayer dance led by children of Sneha Sadan. 

The programme was inaugurated by Fr Antony Lobo by lighting the lamp along with the dignitaries on the dais. Fr Teji Thomas welcomed the chairman, directors, general manager and staff to Sneha Sadan on behalf of family of Sneha Sadan and Jeeva Daan. 

Francis Cutinho, chairman of MCC Bank, in his introductory speech, expressed his joy for celebrating the Christmas celebration of MCC Bank with the inmates of ‘Sneha Sadan’ and ‘Jeevadaan’. He opined that, the true meaning of Christmas is in sharing and caring. He said that, while the bank is progressing at a steady pace, it is also committed to work for the social cause and service. He praised the selfless service of the directors and staff of both the institutions.

Sr Jancy, director of ‘Jeevadaan’, thanked the chairman, directors and staff of MCC Bank for celebrating Christmas with the inmates of Jeevdaan. In her Christmas message she stressed upon the need for fellowship in our society. She called upon the gathering to inculcate the values of Christ in them and opined that the true gift to Christ during Christmas would be to serve the needy with a warm heart.

Fr Teji Thomas, Director of "Sneha Sadan", whole heartedly thanked the MCC Bank team for their visit to 'Sneha Sadan' and praised the generosity of the Chairman, Directors, General Manager and staff of M.C.C Bank. In his Christmas message, he called upon the gathering to treat the needy with affectionate heart.

Fr Antony Lobo congratulated the team of MCC Bank for choosing ‘Sneha Sadan’ and ‘Jeevadaan’ to celebrate Christmas. In his message he opined that the true happiness can be experienced when we do our work or service with satisfaction. 

Harold Saldanha, staff of MCC Bank, who got retired in the month of October 2017, was felicitated. The dignitaries on the dais praised the selfless services of Harold Saldanha for 34 years and wished him a happy and fruitful retired life. The felicitation letter was read by Hazel Saldanha, Dy General Manager of MCC Bank.  

Preston Menezes, Preema Menezes and Rishel Noronha performed dance programme.

Children of Sneha Sadan and Jeeva Daan performed cultural programme.

Children, as well as elders, enjoyed the Christmas celebration with Christmas carols, songs and Santa Claus presented by MCC Bank employees. 

Chairman Francis Cutinho welcomed the gathering. General manager Sunil Menezes proposed the vote of thanks. Manager of Hampankatta Branch Deril J Lasrado compered the programme.
