Ballari: Gujarat outcome will have no effect on Karnataka's 2018 polls - Siddaramaiah

Bellari, Dec 18 (DHNS): The outcome of the Gujarat elections will have no effect on Karnataka's own 2018 Assembly elections said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah here on Monday.

Speaking to reporters here in Ballari, he said because 18 Congress MLAs and opposition leaders like Shankar Singh Vaghela have joined BJP, Congress had suffered a setback in Gujarat polls.

"But Congress has won more seats compared to the last elections, mainly because of the influence AICC president Rahul Gandhi bears over the voters," Siddaramaiah said.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National President Amit Shah had visited Gujarat 50 times before the election. BJP chief ministers from across the country had done so too."

"Voters of Karnataka will only consider the development work done by the government. This, I have realised after 40 years in politics. The Congress will again come to power in the state," he said expressing confidence.

Though demonitisation and GST have had a favourable impact in Gujarat, it will backfire against the BJP in Karnataka, the CM asserted.

KPCC's president's reaction

KPCC President Dr G Parameshwara said that Congress had performed well in the Gujarat polls by winning more seats compared to the last elections.

Speaking to reporters in Tumakuru on Monday, he refrained from commenting further, saying that he wished to wait until a clear picture had emerged.

Again he pitched for a return to using ballot papers for polls and not electronic voting machines (EVM); saying that an American university had proved that EVMs can be tampered with.

Based on the Congress party's performance in Gujarat, he expressed confidence that Congress would come to power again in Karnataka in the 2018 polls.

    Mr Siddu
Dont be so overconfident. With the Election Commission in the pocket of BJP and tampered EVM the control of BJP allover in India is not stoppable. So if you want to win be aggressive and throw all the Hindutva goons in jail, control the Election commission and then only you can win.

If it is such an alien issue and a non-subject, why even spend your precious time discussing it with the Press?
Siddu's strength is not Congress or the Bhagya schemes. His strength is a divided BJP including bone headed Yeddy and equally feisty Ishwarappa and all the various BJP camps vying for power.

With a united and credible opposition, Siddu's Bhagya schemes and Indira Canteens should be fought hard. Instead of giving basic amenities to people of Karnataka, he is wasting precious money on these largesse. Rural areas still have load shedding sometimes continuously for 2 days. Go to any parts of Karnataka, one would find bad roads, unfinished flyovers, behind the schedule projects etc.

With a divided opposition he had a good opportunity to clearly take control of Karnataka in favor of Congress but instead started copying Tamil Nadu which is in dire conditions because of the subsidy schemes run by late amma. He should have instead emulated Andhra or for that matter Telengana. He probably was thinking of a solution to Bangalore's traffic problem viz., screw the infrastructure, all the companies will go out of Bangalore and traffic & infrastructure problem will be solved.

One thing for Indians to take note is that BJP opposed Congis reservation for minority community becoz it is not constitutionally posibble and it also opposed Congis lies on Patel reservation since that too is not possible and struck down by Supreme court. So it is Congress always that is fividing snf ruling snd instigating like the British. In Karnataka too it has started a dangerous dirty game of seperate religion politics at the cost of OBC, SC ST.

All the senior congress politicians/ leaders have accepted Rahul's leadership without going to ballet box. They do not even realize that satisfying the higher ups is important than countries interest. At the first instance they should have discussed and taken a wiser step to propose right candidate for party president position. Doing like that they may appease the leadership but not party's progress.
Where it conditionally written that only the Gandhi fly deserve to be the head of the party ?

Now modiji has won but 2019 it is impossible to win ,A new leader Mr.Rahul Gandhi is accepted by PPL of india, there will be tough fight for sure, chances Modiji can be PM or Rahulji may be PM too,if all we can see is PM is more busy in Elections then administering the vast country india hence development has come to a standstill which is not good at all.Let us wait for 2019 Now.

Before results itself Siddu ji calling out these things... "kallan Mansu Hullullagi..." it's like that.
Any ways... entire opposition tried to push BJP down to the extreme.... with all angles wearing kumkums, visiting temples, showing rudrakshi's, assuring caste based reservations.... calling PM with nasty words, secretly connecting with Pak officials... everything they tried... but still could not. Now speaks as of they won. what non-sense. Win is win yaar, 1 vote win also is a Win. You need to wait for 5 more years... not a joke. come on ... accept and work hard towards Karnataka now... or else zoom.... Karnataka will be seen with Saffron colour. Siddu ji... not a time to give some stupid statements... kaam karo... forget your minority, bhagyas and all.. do some real good work ... or else... ashte mathe.

Siddaramamiah in one of the best C.M that Karnataka has ever had and he is 1001 times better than Jailiurappa. He has proven through his work and pro-people policies. BJP is jealous because poor people are being benefitted because BJP only wants to work for the rich like Mukesh and Gautam.

Jealous BJP is unable to digest the good work done by Siddu and hence is resorting to baseless allegations, mudslinging and communal violence.

Due to heavy industrialisation in Gujarat, most of the barren land is sold to industries, People are so rich that they own imported cars, crores in bank balance, but work in Factories for Rs.25,000/- per month for 8 hours, then they go to their field and do farming there.
