Bantwal: Knocked down by pick-up truck, boy loses life

Bantwal, Dec 18: A boy returning home from a mosque was killed on Sunday December 17 night after a pick-up vehicle hit him at K P Bail in Bolanthoor village near Vittal in the taluk.

The boy who was killed in the accident was Muhammed Khais (11), son of Basheer from K P Bail in Bolanthoor village. He was among several people who had taken part in Eid Milad programme organized at the mosque at K P Bail. After the programme, he was walking home when a pick-up vehicle that came from the direction of Bolanthoor knocked him down.

After the accident, the injured boy was taken to a hospital at Mangaluru but his life could not be saved.

Khais was a fifth standard student of Ash-Ariyya,Suribail. He was also undergoing religious education at the Madrassa at K P Bail.

Vittal police visited the spot and registered a case. Police circle inspector here, Prakash, is guiding the probe.
