Udupi: Pura pravesha of Sri Vidyadheesha Theertha to be held on January 3

Udupi, Dec 17: A grand 'Pura Pravesha' of ascending Palimaru math Swamiji Sri Vidyadheesha Theertha will be held on the evening of  Wednesday January 3. This was announced by Mohan Alva in a preparatory meeting of upcoming Palimaru math Paryaya that was held at Palimaru paryaya welcome committee office on Saturday December 16.

The grand procession on this occasion will start at 4pm from Jodukatte, near Diana hotel. Traditional band troupe and tableaux will accompany the procession. The Palimaru math Swamiji will be carried in a beautiful chariot in the forefront of the parade.

 


    



The procession will pass through main junctions of the city starting from Jodukatte-Diana Circle-KM Marga- Triveni circle-Sanskrit College- Kanakadasa road and will culminate in car street of Sri Krishna math.

The procession will then proceed to Chandra Mouleshwara temple and Anantheshwara temple and offers prayer to Lord Sri Krishna. Then Swamiji will enter Palimaru math at 6.35 pm.

More than 75 spiritual and political leaders and other delegates are expected to participate in the event.

There will be a stage programme and Paura sammana (felicitation for achievers) by Palimaru paryaya welcome committee and city municipality council Udupi.

Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar math will preside over the function, which will have the gracious presence of Sri Vidyadeesha Teertha Swamiji.

Dr Rajarshi Virendra Heggade, trustee of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala will be present on the occasion as honourable president of Paryaya welcome committee.

The other guests who will be present include Ishwar Prasad Nambudari, Raval ji Badarinath Himalaya, Pramod Madhwaraj, district in-charge minister, Shobha Karandlaje, MP, Udupi Chikkamagaluru, Vinay Kumar Sorake, MLA Kaup constituency, Nadoja Dr G Shankar, G Shankar family trust, Ambalpady, Dr M Mohan Alva, Chairman, Alva's education foundation Moodbidri and Meenakshi Madhav Bannanje, president, CMC.

Vote of thanks  will be rendered by A Haridas Bhat, retired principal, Poornaprajna Vidyapeeta, Bengaluru.

Around 75 cultural artists' troupe will perform various cultural programmes during this event.

Manohar Shetty, proprietor, Sairadha developers, Bhuvanendra Kediyur, proprietor, Hotel Kediyur, Raghuramchar, Balaji Raghavendracharya, working president, Bhuvanendra Kediyur, Heranje Krishna Bhat, Pradeep Kalkur, Ganesh Rao, chief secretaries and Padmanabh Bhat, treasurer were present.
