Kundapur, Dec 17: The pillion rider of a motor bike was killed after the vehicle in which he was seated tumbled down when the rider made an effort to avoid hitting a dog that crossed his path at that time. The accident had happened at Shetrakatte in Kenchanur village in the taluk on Saturday December 16.
The deceased has been identified as Sandeep Bhandary. The motor bike in question was being driven by Prasanna Bhandary at the time of the accident.
Sandeep had suffered grievous injuries in the accident. He was admitted into a private hospital in the town initially and then shifted to a private hospital at Manipal for sophisticated care. As per the advice of the doctors there, he was brought again to the government hospital here where he died without responding to treatments. A case relating to this accident was filed in traffic police station here.
