Mangaluru: Three arrested near Talapady for attempt to rob highway passengers

Mangaluru, Dec 16: Ullal police have arrested a group of three people near K C road, Talapady, who were allegedly trying to loot the passengers of vehicles plying on the highway during night time.

The arrested have been identified as Yahya (26), resident of Kotekar, Mohammed Fayaz (19), resident of Talapady and Abdul Tausif (19), resident of Kuthar.

Police have confiscated the deadly weapons, chilli powder and knives from this group. The operation was conducted under the leadership of Gopikrishna, station officer, Ullal police station.

A case under IPC sections 399 and 402 has been registered against the accused.

All the accused are known rowdy sheeters, who have various cases pending in Vittal, Mangaluru North, Puttur city and Ullal police stations for theft, murder threats and consuming drugs.
