This is a great event for foreign tourists to visit Saavira Kambada Basadi. I hope the locals will treat them well without harming and making their visit uncomfortable and also unsafe. There were quite a few instances where foreign tourists were beaten up for no reason in some other states.

I still remember during 1983, we were allotted Jain Highschool as SSLC exam center and we used to go to Savira Kambada Basadi to study during lunch hours. Even during summer, the atmosphere was cool inside the basadi. It is an amazing place and still I wonder how people fixed those heavy pillars/beams during the days when there were no cranes.

Moodbidri is proud to have such an monument.

..Good news..Govt should appoint some guides with proper knowledge of the temple, sanity, cultural heritage..in the first photo a lady can be seen putting her leg on a stone unknowingly..normally in temples these are sacred stones with carvings of God/Godesses..it will be better while promoting we maintain sancitity of the place ..
