Real Madrid defeat Al Jazira, in final


Abu Dhabi, Dec 14 (IANS): Defending champions Real Madrid came from behind here to beat Al Jazira of the United Arab Emirates 2-1 in the FIFA Club World Cup semifinal.

Real Madrid will face Brazil's Gremio, 1-0 winners over Mexican club Pachuca, in Saturday's final, reports Efe.

Brazilian referee Sandro Ricci disallowed three goals: two for the Spanish club in the first half and one for the UAE side in the second half.

Romarinho opened the scoring for Al Jazira just four minutes before the end of the first half.

Five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo equalized for the Blancos in the 53rd minute.

With nine minutes to go in regulation, Gareth Bale scored the winner for Real Madrid just after he entered the pitch as a substitute for Karim Benzema.

Al Jazira and Pachuca will vie for third place in a match hours before the final.
