Bengaluru, Dec 12: Central public sector undertaking Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) is looking to produce 100 basic trainer aircrafts HTT-40 soon.

HAL is awaiting completion of the spin tests in the coming months to go ahead with the production of HTT-40 basic trainer aircrafts, said HAL Chairman and Managing Director Survarna Raju in Bengaluru on Tuesday.

He was addressing HAL’s 5th Global Vendors’ Meet in which over 80 business partners from India and abroad participated.

Outlining HAL’s key achievements and progress made on important projects and impressed upon the vendors to participate in various projects for mutual benefit, he said efforts were on to achieve basic certification of Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) production in the rotary wing segment of the company by the middle of next year.

“Given our large number of platforms with Indian Defence Forces, we remain committed to increase the scope of work to our vendors to ensure success of our programs,’’ he said.

The vendors were updated on HAL’s procurement procedures and improvements made by HAL towards ease of doing business.

Presentations were made on variety of subjects such as e-procurement, supply-chain management challenges etc. The open forum was held to give opportunities to vendors to put-forth their issues and views.
