Mangaluru: Unique angling championship to be held on Dec 24-25

Mangaluru, Dec 12: Gift India, in association with the New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) and Panambur Beach Development Tourism, is all set to organise a unique angling competition, Angling Carnival-2017, on December 24 and 25. The event will be held in the breakwater of NMPT, Panambur beach.

The Angling Carnival India – 2017 comprised of National Level Angling Championship and other activities is indeed a one step forward for the promotion of coastal tourism of Karnataka. The event will also aim to promote the finest culture of sea.

Karnataka’s coastline is the home of vivid culture and the sea beholds distinct fish species. Fishing is the lifeline and the most proud traditional occupation of Coastal Karnataka. The breakwater facility of NMPT is one of the beautiful and attractive landscapes in itself. Experts visualize the population of variety of fish breeds in the region. And of course, it is and always the Gateway of Karnataka, one of the best coastal tourist destinations and the heaven of anglers in Karnataka.

Angling Competition

With the trace of the traditional fishing format, angling competition will be held for limited registrants in the Breakwaters of NMPT, one of the heavens of anglers. This competition will be held in the Northern Breakwater of the New Mangalore Port. NMPT Breakwater Sea is considered as the only heaven of anglers in Karnataka. The vicinity is populated with variety of breeds of fishes.

Highest weight

1st Prize: Rs 50,000 & Trophy + Certificate
2nd Prize: Rs 25,000 & Trophy + Certificate

Highest catch

1st Prize: Rs 10,000 & Trophy + Certificate
2nd Prize: Rs 5,000 & Trophy + Certificate
