Adnan Sami, family meet Afghan Vice President

Mumbai, Dec 11 (IANS): Singer-composer Adnan Sami along with his wife Roya and daughter Medina met Afghanistan Vice President Sarwar Danish.

Adnan says he discussed his upcoming film "Afghan - In Search of a Home" with Danish.

"We had a delightful morning in Mumbai meeting the visiting Vice President. We discussed my upcoming film ‘Afghan' and he was most gracious in extending all his support to us. We look forward to shooting in Afghanistan soon," the "Sun zara" singer tweeted.

He also shared photographs from the meeting on Monday. Danish is on a five-day visit to India.

"Afghan - In Search of a Home" revolves around an Afghan refugee who is forced to leave his land and ends up in a shelter in India. The process of travelling through the country and how his life changes forms the crux of the story.

This is the first time Adnan will be appearing as an actor in a film. He has appeared in several music videos of his own songs and shared screen space with film stars like Amitabh Bachchan in "Kabhi nahin" and Govinda in "Lift karadey".

In 2015, he also appeared in the Salman Khan starrer "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" in the song "Bhar do jholi", which he also sang for the film.

Directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, the film "Afghan - In Search of a Home" is slated to release next year.
