Mangaluru: Lamp lighting, oath taking ceremony held at Athena College of Nursing

Mangaluru, Dec 9: The lamp lighting and oath taking ceremony of 15th batch of GNM and 14th batch of BSc Nursing students was held on December 9 at Athena College of Nursing.

As many as 114 student nurses received lighted candles from Sr Dhanya Devasia, the principal, Dr Sr Alphonsa, the vice-principal and Winni Crasta, the nursing superintendent of Athena Hospital, followed by oath taking to practice the profession with responsibility.



The occasion was graced by dignitaries on the dais Lolita D’Souza, principal, SCS College of Nursing, Mangaluru, the chief guest, R S Shettian, the chairman, Asha Shettian, Sr Dhanya Devasia, Dr Sr Alphonsa and Winni Crasta.

Lolita D’Souza advised the students to care for their patients with a good attitude. She also stressed the importance of Head, Heart and Hands integration.

Mercia Rekha D’Souza, HOD of OBG Nursing department compered the programme. Shanthi Flavia, faculty of Fundamentals of Nursing department delivered the vote of thanks.
