Bengaluru, Dec 7: The Parivarthana Yatra undertaken by BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa was nothing but a "hit and run yatra," said KPCC President Dr G Parameshwara in Bengaluru on Thursday.

Speaking to reporters on the three-day review programme meetings chaired by AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal, the KPCC President said the Parivarthana Yatra taken by the BJP has not exposed a single case or scams against the Government.

The Parivarthana Yatra led by the former BJP Chief Minister had failed to attract people’s support in districts and was marred by internal squabbles within the party, the KPCC Chief said.

Unlike the rally of the Congress to Ballari in 2012, which exposed illegal mining scam of the then BJP government, Dr Parameshwara said the BJP rally has not exposed any scams or corruption cases. It has failed to live up to the expectations of the people.

The BJP leaders have been levelling various charges against the Government and Ministers but they do not have documents to prove charges, the KPCC chief claimed.

On the campaign plans of the Congress, the KPCC chief said all booth level heads have been told to hoist the Congress flag on the Founder’s Day of the party on December 28.

Workers have also been told to take out five km padayatra on that day, he said.

On the elevation of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi to the post of the president, Dr Parameshwara said the party has decided to hold a mega function to mark the event.

The dates and venue would be finalised after Rahul Gandhi cleared his schedule as he was presently busy in Gujarat assembly elections, he added.
