Kashmir policeman's brother abducted, released

Srinagar, Dec 7 (IANS): Militants on Thursday released the brother of a police constable they had abducted a day earlier in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora district.

Police said Mudasir Ahmad Khan, the brother of Constable Farooq Ahmad Khan, was seized at gunpoint by the militants on Wednesday evening in Ajas village. He reached home safely on Thursday.

"The exact circumstances that led to Mudasir's abduction and release are being ascertained," a police officer said.

The militants had barged into the house of the constable but he was not present. So they took away his brother.
