Rahul files nomination for Congress President

New Delhi, Dec 4 (IANS): Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Monday filed his nomination papers for the post of party chief at its headquarters amid cheers and enthusiasm by party leaders and workers.

Gandhi signed a set of nominations in the presence of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, senior party leaders Kamal Nath, Motilal Vora, Sheila Dikshit, Ahmed Patel and Ashok Gehlot.

He accepted greetings from party leaders and chatted with them as they came to him to get his signatures.

Over 90 sets of nominations are expected to be filed supporting Gandhi whose election is a mere formality now, as there is no other candidate for the party's top post.

Gandhi will succeed his mother Sonia Gandhi, the longest serving Congress chief who has helmed the party since 1998.

Hundreds of Congress supporters thronged the party office ahead of the filing of nominations for the party's top post.

A large crowd of party workers were seen requesting the guards for a chance to meet their leader as he made his much awaited move.

Rahul Gandhi became the Congress Vice President in January 2013.

I can understand Modi bhakths frustration here. BJP is conducting 100 Press Conferences to counter Rahul Gandhi's every statement. Now a days he is giving sleepless nights to BJP leaders. Modi started to answer every question of Rahul Gandhi. Modi, Amit Shah, 15 BJP state Chief ministers, entire Union cabinet ministers and other BJP leaders are struggling to face one Rahul Gandhi in Gujarat. Rahul Gandhi's suit-boot ki Sarkar & Gabbar Singh Tax became popular in the country and BJP got nervous from this jibes. 1000 better than criminal Amit Shah.

haha. Doesn't CONgress hold press conference when Modi says something?? CONgressis are so funny, they see gandhi gandhi everywhere. If someone speaks against them, they get kicked out. If Pidi man is that good, he should get his party in power in Guj and HP.

Yeah rite, you will be just blaming the EVMs after every defeat. RG is really proud of you. Despite being a butt of jokes, under performing and losing state after state, you guys still stick to him. All he has to do after every defeat is , just jet off to Bangkok . You guys will do the needful clearing for him here and forget it in a weeks time to welcome him back.

    By the FEKU
    Of the FEKU
    For the FEKU(Andha Bhakts..)
The campaign of BJP and Modi in 2014 Lok Sabha elections was totally made up of promises on Black money and Employment generation. We Indians voted for BJP wholeheartedly on his promises. Whole of the BJP paid media and social media handlers made “Gujarat model” of government as ideal kind of governance. He himself made a big promise of providing 20 million jobs per year. We all believed, voted and powered him into the government with absolute majority.
    Now after three years:
The promise for these three years in total was : 20 million x 3 years = 60 millions.
As per governments own declaration jobs created in last three years : 0.43 million.
Success rate of less than half percent (as confessed by government itself, reality is something else)...
