Udupi: Dharma Sansad a plus point for BJP, says Shobha, lashes out at Congress

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (HB)

Udupi, Nov 26: "Dharma Sansad is a supplementary programme to the upcoming elections and would help the BJP. But the convention is non-political," stressed Udupi Chikmagalur MP Shobha Karandlaje.

Speaking to media persons on Saturday, November 25, she said, "Most of the workers and volunteers who are involved in Dharma Sansad belong to the Hindu Parivar. The youth are rendering social service without any selfish motive. Naturally it would be a plus point for the BJP," she said.

"Islamic fundamentalist organisations like Karnataka Forum for Dignity (KFD) and Popular Front of India (PFI) activists will naturally lean towards ISIS organisations. People feel they live in an environment of threat. Hence, the Hindu society should explore its strength to defeat them. The Dharma Sansad emphasizes such unity," she said.

She lashed out at the Kannada Sahitya Sammelan and said it was a 'Congress-endorsed' programme. "Kannada Sahitya Sammelan president Chandrashekar Patil and writer Baraguru Ramachandrappa M P discussed more about Prime Minister Narendra Modi than conservation and preservation of Kannada language and culture," she said.

"At the Sammelan, the main topic of discussion should have been about Kannada language getting the classical status. However, the focus was diverted and the platform was used to discuss political issues, which is a tragedy," she said.

"The so-called intellectuals are criticising the central government. Chief minister Siddaramaiah himself does not have any interest in Kannada Sammelan. Moreover, education minister Tanveer Sait was also absent for the programme. This shows their true 'concern' over enhancing Kannada language and literature," she ridiculed.

She has let the cat out of bag. Leaders at this so called Dharma Sansad were claiming that this was a non political but religious meeting but now this woman comes out and says otherwise. I doubt that she will get any extra vote due to this meet. Educated and wise people of the state know what you are and what you have done in the past including coffee estate.

"Dharma Sansad" is nothing but paid event of BJP to divert the attention of Karnataka voters from massive failures of BJP ahead of the 2018 elections.

People are already talking of 4 Kids and Ram Temple rather than talking of education, employment. BJP is successful in its efforts.
