Belgaum: Forest minister Ramanath Rai stung by honey bees, cancels speech

Daijiworld Media Network – Belgaum (AM)

Belgaum, Nov 24: Minister Ramanath Rai along with other forest department officials had to make a quick dash covering their faces after they came under sudden attack by a swarm of honey bees at the inauguration of Bio Park at Macche village on Friday, November 24.

The attack of the bees took place when the minster was about to address the gathering after the inauguration. Stung by the bees on the face, Rai left without speaking on the occasion.

School students who had gathered had to run for their lives in the park.

The person arranging the sound system was injured badly and had to be rushed to a nearby hospital.

I am sorry on behalf of the Bees ..They do not know who is a minister and who is not ...they should be dragged to court ..or or maybe the bees got a bit intelligent ..came to know about the millions of trees that have been chopped for the nethravathi diversion project and being a environment minister you could not stop such a disaster to the eco system .

This can also be considered as a punishment for not past, but present sins of cutting down forests for diversion of Nethravati and for playing with nature.

The bees might have feared that this Forest Minister had come to cut down some trees that would deprive them of a place to stay. I am of the humble opinion that this Forest Ministry should be scrapped. What is the use of having a Ministry headed by an inept and useless Minister? The forests are fast depleting and if no action is taken, within a few years we will be left with no forests at all.
