Mangaluru: Police nab 'Ullal Target' group chief, accomplice

Mangaluru, Nov 23: Police personnel attached to anti rowdy squad of city south subdivision have succeeded in arresting the chief of 'Ullal Target' group and his accomplice. The arrested persons have been identified as Illyas, resident of Ulal Sundari Bagh, and his accomplice, Imran from Melangady Dargah in Ullal.

After getting information that Illyas was staying in a flat near Kudupady mosque at Jeppu in the city, staff of the squad raided the place and took him into custody.

 

Illyas is an accused in the case of murder attempt launched at Ullal against Dawood in the past. After this act, he had gone underground. He also had evaded arrest in four warrants issued for crimes within the limits of Bajpe, Yallapur in Uttara Kannada district, and Konaje police stations. As per information, he faces about 25 cases related to murder attempt, robbery and robbery attempt in various police stations including Padubidri in Udupi district.

Imran was arrested from Woodland guest house lodge near Dadar railway station in Mumbai metro after the police got information about his whereabouts. He has been accused in murder attempt case against Dawood in Ullal. After committing this crime, he had decamped. He had evaded arrest in case of three arrest warrants and faces nine cases in various police stations relating to murder attempt, robbery, and robbery attempt.
