Mangaluru: Tiny tots steal hearts at Mangalore Meri Jaan Children’s Day contest

Mangaluru, Nov 21: One of the most awaited children's contests of the year organized by prominent Facebook page Mangalore Meri Jaan (MMJ) in association with Ideal Ice Cream and powered by Euro Kids-Kodialbail was held here in a glittering function at Forum Fiza mall on Sunday, November 20.

The contest received an overwhelming response with over 2,000 entries pouring in making it tough for the judges to select the winners.

Cutest Kid 2017

Valonia D’Souza bagged the top prize in the Cutest Kid contest, while Gia Nazareth won the first runner-up spot, and Prisha Puneeth, the second runner-up prize.

Himansh S was adjudged the most Charming Kid, while Smayan Yogish Shetty and Vihaani bagged the Cute Smile award.

Little Prince 2017 and Little Princess 2017

In Little Prince 2017 award under the age group of 4- 8 years, was bagged by Savin S. The first runner up was Thameer and the second runner up, Naitik N. 'Most Photogenic Face 2017' was won by Josel Shane, and 'Cute Smile 2017' was bagged by Dhevansh D Shetty.

In Little Princess 2017 award under the age group of 4- 8 years, was bagged by Anvisha Vamanjoor. The first runner up was Shloka Kottary and the second runner up, Maanvi. 'Most Photogenic Face 2017' was won by Anvitha Prabhu, and 'Cute Smile 2017' was bagged by Riddhi R Shetty.

In Little Prince 2017 award under the age group of 8-12 years, was bagged by Ojas A Shelke. The first runner up was Sarthak Shenoy and the second runner up, Grahith G Prabhu. 'Most Photogenic Face 2017' was won by Shiyad and Varsh Shetty, and 'Cute Smile 2017' was bagged by Damodar.

In Little Princess 2017 award under the age group of 8-12 years, was bagged by Aishwi Vaishnavi. The first runner up was Sinchana Kotian and the second runner up, Shika Salian. 'Most Photogenic Face 2017' was won by Mahima Saldhana, and 'Cute Smile 2017' was bagged by Sanyuktha.

The photos of Cutest Kid 2017 were judged by prominent model-actor-anchor Saujanya Hegde, ‘Mrs Popular’ at Mrs India Worldwide 2017, Anuraj Bangera, Coastalwood actor, Sathish Era, an ace photographer of the state’s leading daily Udayavani, and Dayanand Kukkaje, a much known-name and an ace photographer of Daijiworld media.

While photos of Little Prince and Little Princess 2017 (Category: 4-8 years) were judged by Gowri Suhas Rao from Hakuna Matata and Aarthi Shetty from Euro Kids, the photos of Little Prince and Little Princess 2017 (Category: 8-12 years) were judged by Archana Prabhu and Reshma Kamath Nayak.

Four prominent achievers were felicitated on the occasion.

Aneesha Nayak, one among the first four female Indian surfers to participate in the Asian Surfing Championship, 2015 held at Kovalam, Chennai. The teenager was felicitated for her exploits in surfing.

Tanvi Jagadish, the only female surfer and stand-up paddler to have represented India, was also felicitated. She has claimed coveted titles surfing in various events in India and abroad.

Shabari Ganiga, Mangaluru's only female speed painter was also felicitated. Shabari is not a painter alone; she has a mellifluous voice and has made mark in Coastalwood too. She sings Kannada, Bollywood and English songs with elan. The crowd got all their time’s worth when the talented painter drew a quick painting of former president A P J Abdul Kalam in 10 minutes.

Anchor-model-actress Soujanya Hegde, who had bagged 'Mrs Popular' award at ‘Mrs India Worldwide - 2017’ was also felicitated.

Ashwin B R, senior marketing manager, Ideal Ice Cream, Sunil K S, marketing head, Forum Fiza mall and Waseem Shaan from Mangalore Meri Jaan were the guests who gave away the prizes to the winners.

Avinash Yuvan and Sachin Jaykar from Channel One Karnataka compered the programme.
