Puttur, Nov 21: Retired assistant sub-inspector of the police station here, Sheshappa Poojary was found hanging from a tree here on Tuesday November 21.
The alleged suicide came to light after the recovery of his body from inside the Balleri protected forest region at Meginapanja.
Native of Kunjoorupanja in the taluk, Poojary had retired as assistant sub-inspector at the police station in the town. He used to stay in a rented house at Parladka. On November 20, he had left on a visit to his ancestral home at Kunjoorupanja, it is said.
In the early hours of November 21, Sheshappa Poojary's body was found hanging from a tree to the end of the dhoti he was wearing.
Reason for taking the extreme step could not be ascertained immediately.
Poojary has left behind his wife, Vishalakshi, and sons, P S Rakshit and P S Shobhit.
